Hey to All and a belated Merry Christmas and wishing you
all a Happy and prosperous New Year.
It's me, the ever absent MissReadingFaye and I know I've
not been on here as frequently as I wish I could since I'm busy with life and
work in general. But I haven't stopped writing my dears.
I will update Forgotten
Melodies soon-ish (no dates but I will). In the meantime I
wrote two stories and one of them is this Two Shot Story called Midnight
Kiss (I know lame title but it's all I could think of to summarise this
two shot story).
The other story I'm working on is a little more
darker and I have yet to find a suitable title for it but I will keep you
posted on that story too. For now I'll let you in on the second-no-title-story
- it revolves around two powerful families and in an aftermath of a bloody
fight, Asad and Zoya meet. What follows is a dark tale of forbidden love. Asad
resents his decision to save her. She's not his TYPE but she is all he NEEDS.
And for Zoya - He is not the RIGHT man but he's the ONE. Ane no it is not
supernatural in any way, shape or form, just forbidden love.
Well that is that for now. But in the meantime here is
the first part of the Two Shot Story: Midnight Kiss.
I hope you enjoy reading this one
To put down the scenario for you all my
dears, Midnight Kiss begins after the Mangalpur fiasco and Zoya has
now hidden Maryam in the storeroom. Asad has just got home from a late night at
the office, tensed after a visit and a threat from Maryam's father.
Asad enters his room where a hooded figure stands in the
corner of his room. Later on that night he tries to hide his brother Ayaan but
bumps into Zoya who is busy gathering food and water for Maryam. Their midnight
encounter leads to a night of passion and fighting their inhibitions. A Kiss
that consumes them in an all or nothing way. But will Asad come to accept his
feelings for Zoya?
Part 1: Midnight Kiss
"Don't tell me it's you again? Aap yahaan kya kar rahi
hai Miss Farooqui? I told you to stay out of my room," Asad spoke through
gritted teeth, his anger evident as he entered his room. He had just returned
late from his office, his mind and heart were not at peace after the unwelcomed
intrusion earlier at the office from Maryam's father who had ultimately
threatened Asad that he would kill Zoya if he ever came to know that she was
harbouring his non-compliant and dishonoured daughter Maryam. Asad growled
inwardly at his thoughts as he refocused his attention to the stranger standing
in the corner of his room shrouded in darkness. His mind told him it would be
none other than Miss Farooqui at this late hour and as per norm up to
something. Getting no response Asad now strode angrily, his hands balled into fists
as he paced towards the tall oak bookshelf behind which the hooded figure hid.
The soft glow of the moonlight filtered through the large elliptical bay window
creating a wash of white shimmer across the cold walls of Asad's room, and in
its light danced the shadow of the hooded figure behind the dimness of the tall
oak bookshelf.
"I said come out now Miss Farooqui!" Asad
roared irately at the hooded figure, his fear and unfounded fears of losing
Zoya had a stern grip on his emotions lately, he couldn't sleep without
checking on her every night. Fear consumed him and Asad had never truly felt
scared until he almost lost her in Mangalpur and with it also came a growing
need to avoid Zoya. It was his way of protecting Zoya from himself, or at least
that is what he constantly repeated to himself. Asad's constant impassiveness
to Zoya was his ridiculous way of hiding his inner turmoil, his feelings for
her grew stronger with each passing day. Ever since he met Zoya, his mind and
heart were out of sync and after Mangalpur he felt drawn to her in a way his
righteous self, his tehzeeb and tameez code of conduct did not approve of.
"Asad Bhai, sorry," the hooded figure finally
spoke as Ayaan stepped forward sheepishly from the dimly lit area behind the
bookcase. Cloaked in a hoodie, he look troubled as he approached his elder
brother and embraced him in a brotherly hug.
"Ayaan. What's the matter? Kya baat hai itni raat ko
kyun aaye ho?" Asad questioned anxiously as he looked at his younger
brother with immensely concerned eyes.
"Nahin Bhai, nothing feels right. When I don't get
to meet you, nothing feels right," Ayaan responded dismally as he paced
the dark room despondently.
"Ayaan! You know well enough that you shouldn't be
here. You know how many problems our secret late night meetings will create if
anyone found out. I promised Ammi that I wouldn't meet you and I'm sure that
your Ammi took an oath from you too. Never mind! I know ... gale milen bina
nahin jaaoge, aaja," Asad spoke tenderly as he stretched his arms out for
a hug.
"I know, but I don't care what anyone thinks
anymore. Ye sab mujhse bardasht nahin hota. I can't tolerate it anymore. In my
house nobody understands me, sirf aap hi hai Bhaijaan, you're the only one who
understands me. I had to see you," Ayaan bickered relentlessly with Asad.
"Ayaan, aap ki Ammi ne aap ko kasam di hai, you
shouldn't break that promise," Asad chided a disconsolate Ayaan.
"For you Asad Bhaijaan, I'll break all those
promises," Ayaan prudishly refuted his brother's wishes.
"Dekho Ayaan, tum mere liye bahut azeez ho, but
still neither of us should break our mother's promises, okay," Asad
reasoned once more as he hugged his little brother with a tender understanding
hug.
"Chalon, you should go home now," Asad
kind-heartedly motioned Ayaan to leave. Ayaan as per norm was about to creep
out of the window, in stealth mode but Asad stopped him as he motioned his
little brother to leave the house from the main door, respectfully as any other
normal human being would. On walking out into the dark hallway Asad scanned the
area thoroughly for anyone in particular a certain rather curious and highly
interfering Miss Farooqui.
If Zoya finds out Ayaan was here, wo sab ko bata degi,
Asad thought inwardly. No sooner had they stepped out into the dark
hallway that Asad and Ayaan heard perceptible footsteps approaching the dining
area, they both looked to each other in horror, their eyes became animated as
both looked to each other, unsure what they should do to avoid creating a
problem. Asad crept along the hall to peak at whoever was up this late into the
night; he was being as silent as possible for if he were to be caught out with
Ayaan, there would be trouble. Hearing footsteps behind him, Asad paused,
holding his breath. He looked frantically around and, seeing the smallest
sliver of light coming from the storeroom door that stood barely ajar, he
darted hastily to the left pulling Ayaan with him. He opened the door as softly
as he could, and as quickly as he could, and urged Ayaan to hide inside the
storeroom. The footsteps now grew louder and louder, making Asad acutely aware
of the culprit that was up this late. Those stomping feet had to belong to Miss
New York. The ruthless humming ofJaane kyun log pyaar karte hai startled
Asad, as he recognised the off-tune rhythm of Zoya's voice. He whipped around
immediately, all the while his brain worked on overtime formulating ideas of
how he would sneak Ayaan out without Zoya noticing.
"Bhaijaan, I told you, it was pointless to leave
through the main door, climbing through the window would have been more fun and
no one would have known!" Ayaan whispered stupidly as he eyed his brother
looking at the girl approaching the main hallway near where they both stood
tensely.Kuch to chakkar hai, Ayaan thought deeply as he keenly observed
Asad's gaze wander over at the guest girl lingeringly, his eyes were unusually
big and soft. Ayaan giggled inwardly looking at the unusually romantic
expression on Asad's face. Lagta hai Bhaijaan ko pyar ho gayya hai, wo bhi Miss
Musibat New York waali se.
"Asad Bhai, isn't she the same girl that ran into
you that night? Ye wahi ladki hai na, uss raat wali?" Ayaan teased his
elder brother, a wide cheeky smiled plastered to his face. Had it not been dark
Ayaan would have seen the faint red that radiated from Asad's face.
"Ye ladki nahin, aafat hai. If she sees you
here, poore sheher mein din dora peet legi, she will wake the entire house up
and alert them you are here. I stay far away from her as I can," Asad
whispered brashly glaring at Ayaan for being foolish.
"Aap ko pasand nahin toh kya hoowa, mera intro karwa
do?" Ayaan winked at Asad, his face animated as he tried to escape from
Asad's side to walk towards Zoya.
"Ayaan!" Asad chided his silly little brother
tugging sharply at his arm, dragging him towards the storeroom. "Don't be
ridiculous! Tum chup jao, go and hide and not a sound from you," Asad
forced his little brother into the storeroom where currently a peacefully
sleeping Maryam resided behind a secret canvas where no one could possibly have
seen her had they unintentionally walked into the storeroom.
In the meantime, a highly engrossed Zoya walked towards
the storeroom, the wooden floorboards were in her favour tonight as they did
not creak while she walked stealthily towards the storeroom, a glass of water
and a book in hand, she was thoroughly lost in thought that she hadn't noticed
Asad standing like a statue, guarding the storeroom door, his arms crossed over
his chiselled torso waiting to pounce on her. Zoya walked right into him, the
sudden impact of colliding with his hard and warm body made her halt
immediately as her mind registered whose toned chiselled body she had just
bumped into making every hair on the back of her neck stand on end, her heart
fluttered crazily, her nerves got the better of her as she registered who she
had just walked into.
Zoya saw Asad glare down at her albeit nervously. She
watched Asad silently, her brown eyes wide with fear that he would lash out at
her any moment, her heart hammered precariously at the thought of what would
follow if Asad ever found out she was hiding Maryam against his wishes. Zoya
swallowed hard, she was a nervous wreck totally wrapped up in her thoughts, and
with the fear of being caught red handed she began chugging down the water in
her hand nervously, the water that she originally brought for Maryam. Great,
just bloody great - she thought, now I'll have to get more water when this Akdu
Ahmed Khan decides to go to sleep. Zoya's big eyes stilled over Asad as
she drank the water nervously, she was afraid he would enter the storeroom.
Asad pinched the bridge of his nose in irritation at
Zoya's clumsiness; she didn't even know how to drink water like a normal human
being he thought as he inched forward towards her, moving more closely to her
now and in response she fell a step back, her fingers trembled as she held the
glass to her mouth. He glared at her for being so reckless even with water; his
intense eyes gazed at her intently earning a whimper from Zoya as she dropped
the book from her hand in shock. Asad pinched the bridge of his nose irately
once again. It had been a long time since Zoya had drowned in those intense
eyes; his gaze did things to her in ways that she could not bear.
Akdu handsome lag raha hai, Zoya thought dreamily as
she watched Asad longingly. A sliver of moonlight spilt into to the
hallway, the luminous thread of its light radiated on Zoya's face, her eyes
were doe like under its glow, her lips were pink and swollen from the icy water
she guzzled down frantically seconds ago.
Asad had the urge to trace her lips right there - right
then and right now.Beautiful - I want to kiss you Zoya, Asad thought
inwardly as his eyes traced the contours of her lips, his heart thrummed wildly
in his chest, he had to use all his will power to anchor himself where he
stood.
Asad cleared his throat, the shrill of his throat
clearing demanded attention and order, he crossed his arms for effect and
looked to Zoya stoically. "It's late shouldn't you be in bed already,"
Asad questioned Zoya, his gaze swung in momentum nervously from her to the
closed storeroom door and then to the ground where Zoya's book had fallen
unceremoniously. He was hoping she would go to her room soon enough so that he
could sneak Ayaan out A.S.A.P.
Zoya lifted her head from the behind the glass she held
close to her face, her doe like eyes looked at Asad anxiously, she weighed her
choices, either she went back to her room or sent him to his or just tell Asad
the truth that she had hidden Maryam in the storeroom, the latter was her least
favourite choice for what would follow was Asad's anger and she did not want to
be on the receiving end of that right now, not after Mangalpur- she had sensed
a change in their so-called relationship since then and within herself were
feelings for the brute Asad and she was trying hard to repress those feelings.
Hiding Maryam in the storeroom wasn't such a good idea after all, she thought
to herself. She began thinking of excuses - her word vomit ready, threatening
to rear its uncontrollable head. The pale moonlight now dimmed as thick shadowy
clouds obscured the moonlight, Zoya watched Asad nervously, her fingers
trembling on the rim of the glass she still held for dear life. Had it not been
for the darkness, the small sliver of moonlight could easily show her
uneasiness and would have been a dead give-away that she had gone against his
wishes (again). Thankfully Asad had not caught on.
"Miss Farooqui, main aap se kuch pooch raha
hoon," Asad gritted his teeth at Zoya, it was getting late and his
patience was wearing thin.
"Mr. Khan, what are YOU doing here? Aap iss waqt
yahaan kya kar rahein hai? Isn't it passed your bed time?" Zoya chided
Asad ignoring his question as she looked to the storeroom door nervously.
"Do I need to remind you that this is MY house and I
can do as I please, AND I asked you first, Miss Farooqui. Oh I see ... you were
- reading?" Asad sneered, his intonation emphasising her name, he was
rather curious about her late night reading of a book so weirdly titled. The
title was the first thing that caught his eyes when Zoya has dropped the book
out of shock before. He hoped if he made her feel awkward about it, she would
tire of her questions and return to her room and he could see to Ayaan leaving
promptly unnoticed.
Asad watched Zoya stare at him, an agitated frown turning
down the corners of her luscious lips. Right at that moment, all Asad wanted to
do was feel her lips against his own. But he couldn't, he grimaced inwardly.
Oh! - but laptop ki kasam, OCD ki kasam he really wanted to.
"Yes I READ MR KHAN, shock-horror!" Zoya spoke
sarcastically. "And anyhow why do you care, Mr. Khan?" she asked
inquisitively, her cheeks turning slightly pink. "Aur haan Mr Khan it's
none of your business what I do or what I read."
"Miss Farooqui -" Asad growled irately,
"May I remind you that you are in my house and so, that makes it my
business to know what you're doing. Toh batao, why are you still up?" he
questioned authoritatively as he began fluidly walking towards her, closing the
distance between them, for he was curious on her reason for reading such a
suggestive book. Could it be she felt the same way as he did? Asad
pondered intriguingly. He picked up the book in one swift motion off
the floor, his eyes raised in amusement and curiosity as he narrowed his eyes
to read the highly suggestive title of the book more clearly now. "How to
Avoid Falling in Love with a Jerk," Asad spoke teasingly as he read the
book's title out loud, his eyes were on hers the whole time, his lips curled
into one of the most tantalising smiles, his smile made Zoya's heart beat
faster now. Zoya swallowed hard as she watched his gaze linger on hers
intently.
"What do you want, Mr Khan?" Zoya straightened
up as she reclaimed her rebellious expression, seriously this man should come
with a warning label, she felt a rush of anticipation run through her like fire
when her eyes rested on Asad's eyes.
I want you - Asad thought possessively as he looked at
Zoya tremble under his gaze. She was clutching the lapels of her
blouse tightly, playing with the fabric nervously between her fingers and her
face flushed with a pink hue. Asad smiled contemptuously watching Zoya blush
under his gaze, as he approached her with one more step, his nose caressed hers
in an Eskimo kiss for a brief torturous second, and at his slightest touch he
sensed her heart pulsing away frantically, earning a wicked smile to form on
his lips. "Nothing! Zoya. I came out to make a cup of coffee ... but then
I bumped into you and this precious little book of yours," Asad's voice
dangerously near - vibrated over Zoya's already raw and vulnerable nerves.
"Mr Khan, that's not fair, give it back
already," Zoya retorted as she breathed nervously around him, her pulse
began to hammer again as Asad watched her absorbedly. How did he manage
to make her feel so woozy with his one look? - Zoya thought as she tried to
calm her heartbeat. Seriously that book had not help her to deal with
her feelings towards him, for now she felt ever more unguarded and deeply
vulnerable and so hopelessly in love with him. Dammit! That was a waste
of 25 US dollars, plus postage and packaging right there, Zoya thought as she
regretted ever buying that stupid book. Now he knew how she felt, Zoya thought
uncertainly. But did he love her? - She traced his eyes
attentively.
"Hmm, hum bhi dekein ... what's so interesting about
this book. I think I'll keep it, add it to my collection," Asad teased
Zoya again breaking her reverie as he began flipping through the glossy white
pages of the book lazily, not really caring for what was inside, as his deep
brown eyes watched her intently, lustfully and longingly. His hands finally
rested on a weathered bookmark that rested intently on a page that had been
deeply crumpled as though Zoya must have spent a great deal of time reading
that particular chapter. Asad assessed the words on that page thoroughly and
the title of the chapter stood out like a sore thumb. It read: 150
kisses and their meanings - in big bold red print. Asad looked
at Zoya eagerly through his thick black lashes as he bit his bottom lip in
apprehension, his heart hammered erratically at the thought of Zoya. Did
she want to kiss him? Surely he was the jerk that
Zoya was diligently reading up on and hoping to avoid falling in love with,
Asad thought deeply.
Zoya did not like the way Asad was looking at her for it
did things to her, unimaginable things, it made her feel and want things she
had never felt nor wanted before with anyone. His eyes pierced into her as if
he was trying to figure her out, as if he wanted her in an all-consuming way.
The less he knew about her, the better she thought. Liar, you know you
want him - Zoya's brain protested, but her heart melted further as his warm and
lingering gaze ran through her with a wild fire that
she couldn't seem to put out. She very badly wanted Asad to
kiss her, to touch her; she wanted to be one with him. Mr Khan would
never want that, wo aisa kahaan karne waale hai? His tehzeeb and tameez lecture
would get in the way and he thinks I'm a musibat, Zoya thought to herself
dismally. It would never happen, no matter how much Zoya wanted Asad
to kiss her, to tell her that he felt the same, to put at her ease and end her
misery, - not in this lifetime anyway.
"Mr Khan! Give it back," Zoya spoke sharply as
she advanced towards Asad's retreating form entering the kitchen behind him;
she jumped determinedly at Asad, trying to grasp the book from his teasing
manoeuvres as they ran around the dining table in circles. Zoya had forgotten
all about Maryam by now as she was totally wrapped up in Asad.
"You're so bossy Miss Farooqui," Asad teased as
he watched Zoya roam around him miserably, he quite liked it when she paid him
so much attention.
"And you're not Mr Khan?" Zoya looked at Asad
in disbelief. "Oh I'm Mr Khan, jaisa main chaahta hoon waisa hi hota hai,
.. oh this is my chair Miss Farooqui, you can't sit here ..." Zoya
jeeringly began to mimic Asad as she stomped around the kitchen emulating his
bossy nature towards her.
"Serioulsy Mr Khan, you're more bossy than me. This
is what you do all day, every day. Dekhaoon?" Zoya gleamed as she rolled
the sleeves of her blouse up, crossing her arms across her chest stoically
before she began to emulate Asad: "Miss Farooqui, how
many times have I told you to knock. Don't come into my room without my
permission. Do this Miss Farooqui - this is the correct way, your way is wrong
Miss Farooqui. Miss Farooqui this coffee's nasty. Eat like a normal human Miss
Farooqui! No you can't watch the cricket match Miss Farooqui because I said so.
Ye kaise kapre pehan rakhe hai Miss Farooqui. Ye aisa kyun hai. Ye waisa kyun
hai. Come here Miss Farooqui. Go away Miss Farooqui. Come here now Miss
Farooqui. Go away - come back - no go away - come back. No - go way Miss
Farooqui. Naam kya Asad rakh diya ghar waalon ne, apne aap ko babbar sher
samajhte hain! Saara din sheron ki tarah gurrate rehte hain. Grr..." Zoya
giggled flippantly as she imitated Asad. Asad could not help but smile inwardly
as he watched Zoya imitate him so perfectly, her voice spectacularly alluring
as she waltz around him. For Asad it was like slow torture to watch her like
this, all he could think of was kissing her.
"Come here and get it Miss Farooqui," Asad
spoke commandingly, his voice demanding, breaking Zoya's imitation game, his
voice had edge to it, he mischievously smiled as he dangled the book teasingly
before Zoya's eyes.
"Give it back to me Mr Khan," Zoya demanded.
"Nahin doonga," Asad sniggered.
"Give it to me already," Zoya grumbled
miserably.
"Come here, come closer and get it!" Asad
chortled, his lips curved into a sensuous smile.
"Mr Khan!" Zoya growled impatiently. God! he
really knew how to get on her nerves.
No sooner through their flirtatious bickering, Zoya and
Asad had neared each other once again, both breathless from their midnight
banter and late night unintended jogging around the dining table. Deep
and dangerously in thought, Asad looked to Zoya, his eyebrows raised in
suggestion, a mischievous hue burned in his eyes as his lips twisted up in an
enticing smile, one side of his lips curled as if he were sharing a private
joke with himself. He looked at Zoya, a smirk peeled across his lips, his
eyebrows raised, flashing a grin he said, "On one condition you'll get
this book back ZOYA," Asad spoke in a low husky voice; a spark of desire
in his eyes was visible even in the darkness of the kitchen. Asad felt Zoya
shift under his gaze, as if she was uncomfortable in her own skin. There was
something immensely enticing about that. There was something intimate about the
way Asad had said her name, it made Zoya feel weak at her knees, it sounded
beautifully perfect as her name slipped off his luscious lips. Zoya swallowed
hard as her heart began to hammer again and she totally understood a come-on
when she heard one. Was Mr Khan flirting? Oh yes he most definitely is
- Zoya thought inwardly. Zoya was thoroughly loss in thought that she
hadn't realised she had already neared Asad too close for comfort, their noses
touched as their breaths mingled ferociously, her heartbeat drummed in Asad's
ears as they came face to face.
"And what do you suggest, Mr Khan? What is the
condition?" Zoya spoke softly, tilting her head up to look up into Asad's
alluring eyes, his name lingered sensuously on her lips while her eyes remained
on his lips. For Asad, his name sounded lethal on her lips.
"If you want you precious book back ... then YOU ...
HAVE TO KISS ME - ZOYA," Asad responded smoothly, his hot breath fanned
over Zoya's face making her quiver with anticipation, her eyes lowered
tentatively to Asad's lips. They were so close to each other that Zoya could
feel the heat radiating from Asad's body, her one hand travelled slowly up to
rest on Asad's chest as she looked into Asad's eyes and she was met with the
same ferocity she was looking at him. Colour flooded her face at the implied
kiss, and she tried so hard to control her feelings. Zoya opened her mouth to
say something undoubtedly sarcastic or snarky back at Asad but instead she
found herself mesmerised by him as she leaned forward into Asad, her tongue
stuck out to wet her lips and she saw Asad's gaze follow the movement of her
tongue. Asad's eyes gleamed darkly as he watched Zoya's lips; the air seemed to
have thin around him as all he could think of was her lips.
While he was distracted by the closeness between them,
Zoya stretched her arms in order to reach up and snatch the book from his firm
grasp. But the book was hardly her objective anymore. She put her other hand on
his firm chest for balance, and suddenly, she closed the small gap that
remained in between them. For a moment Zoya's whole body went still but then
her hands were on his chest and Asad thought for sure that she would push him
away. But once again, she surprised him when she fisted the material of his
shirt and drew him even closer, answering his demand for a kiss with just as
much ferocity as her lips came crashing down on his. Zoya's lips brushed Asad's
lips softly at first, sending little shockwaves of fire through every part of
his body. The fire consumed him, and in response Asad pressed his mouth into
hers. Her lips parted, letting his tongue slide in. It explored gently, yet
demanded her retaliation. She perused the recesses of his mouth with vigour,
finding that it only increased her desire for him. Her outstretched hand came
up to the nape of his neck, her fingers tugging hard on his hair. Asad was only
fired on more by the delicious pain it caused him as she clawed his hair.
Asad's heart raced frantically in his chest, and its
aching rhythm increased further when her hand came to touch the tender spot on
his neck. As she moved her fingers slowly into his hair, clawing his hair, he
moaned slightly into her mouth. Asad dropped the book from his hand and held
her tighter against his welcoming body; his fingers roamed over her body and he
clutched her soft buttocks with both his hands earning a moan from her lips as
he swept her off her feet and onto the dining table. Asad forgot about Ayaan in
that moment, he forgot his tehzeeb and tameez and lost himself in the feel of
Zoya against his body. He leaned over her petite body, pressing her into the
dining table, rising above her, not breaking the rhythm of their passionate
kiss, her fingers clawed and dug at his muscular shoulders clutching him
against her. It felt like bliss and he had no desire to stop what he was doing
with her now. As the book dropped from Asad's hands, it fell unceremoniously to
the floor; its impact on hitting the floor was excruciatingly loud in the
otherwise silent house. Unknown to both Asad and Zoya, the rest of the
house were now wide awake, stirred by the commotion coming from the kitchen.
But neither Asad nor Zoya had broken the kiss as they stayed in each other's embrace.
Asad wrapped his arms around Zoya's waist, pulling her closer to his body.
Zoya's breath hitched as Asad moved his hands in slow sweet torture over her
body, tracing her undiscovered curves. Her one hand strayed into his hair
while her other came to rest on his chest, smoothing out his shirt over the
hard muscles beneath, feeling the thrumming beat of his heart. Months of
pent-up anger and frustration, months of their silly fights and staring
competitions all melded into one heated kiss.
Asad's hands moved from Zoya's face over her shoulder,
down her back again until it cupped her soft derriere. He massaged her
perfectly formed behind and brought down his second hand to massage her
perfectly formed curves, Zoya moaned loudly in response, nipping at his bottom
lip, provoking a low groan from him. Her tongue immediately darted out to sooth
the pain, flicking over his lightly swollen lips.
Long moments passed and they remained in each other's
embrace, neither wanting to let go. Finally, a thunder of footsteps ran down
the marble stairs and a candle was lit in the far corner of the room as three
stunned eyes stared at Asad and Zoya. The flickering light of the candle and
surprised gasping noises got both of their attention.
"Asad, Zoya," three shocked voices exclaimed in
shock.
Asad broke the kiss and looked into Zoya's eyes, not
quite knowing what to say. Her face was beautiful in the flickering light of
the candle; her lips swollen and moist from his kisses. The reality of the
situation suddenly dawned upon them both. Zoya pulled away first, her legs
swooped off the dining table, ignoring the almost inaudible groan Asad let out
at the loss of her contact, her touch is all that he craved right now. Neither
said a word. Zoya moved back to the table collecting her book from the floor,
and as she rose upright she looked at Asad with a shy, half-lidded stare that
could make angels fall, chewing on her lower lip as she recalled the feeling of
his lips on hers just moments ago, before she finally ran into her room,
shutting the door closed, ashamed of her actions and resented that she ended up
falling for the jerk Asad in the end. Asad moved away, his eyes cast
downwards as he too proceeded for his room, his eyes glanced back once
longingly at Zoya's room door.
"And what the hell was that?" Dilshaad spoke
angrily as she shoved pass the black leather sofa into the dining room,
switching the lights on to stand defiantly in front of her son to interrogate
her son for his shameful behaviour tonight. Najma watched nervously from where
she stood on the marble staircase and Ayaan walked forward from the threshold
of the storeroom door, anxious of what had just transpired.
